Funeral services were held Friday, March 19, 2010 at Saulters Moore Funeral Home Chapel in Prentiss, MS for Mrs. Sonja N. Courtney, age 51, of Bassfield, MS who passed away March 16, 2010 at Jefferson Davis Community Hospital in Prentiss. Interment followed at Bassfield Cemetery. Rev. Charles Loftin officiated. Pall bearers were Clint Langley, Travis Langley, Jimmy Polk, Billy Langley, Ernie Langley and Ricky Deen. Honorary pall bearers were Shane Berry, Glenn Adams and Kenny Speights. Mrs. Sonja Nanette Courtney was born April 7, 1958 in Mississippi. She was the daughter of Garry C. “Penny” Langley and Amy Deen Langley. She was self employed as the owner of R&F Equipment. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Mrs. Courtney is survived by her husband, Fred Courtney Jr. of Bassfield; two daughters, Kellan Krause of Bassfield, MS and Heather Courtney of Hattiesburg, MS; one son, Fred Courtney III of Athens, OH; a sister, Suzon Speights of Hattiesburg, MS; three brothers, Gary Phillip Langley of Oklahoma City, OK, Chris Langley and Joseph Todd Langley both of Rockwall, TX and a grandson, Ashton Hutchinson. She was preceded in death by her parents.
