William Douglas Jenkins, Sr.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Saulters-Moore Funeral Home Chapel in Prentiss, MS for Mr. William Douglas Jenkins, Sr., age 67, who died March 14, 2010 in River Ridge, LA. Bro. Tommy Broome officiated. Interment followed in Greens Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers were C.J. Jenkins, Ethan Jenkins, Bryan Jenkins, Kevin Temple, Dusty Jenkins, and Wayne Douglas. Serving as Honorary Bearers were Daniel Temple and Wesley Temple. William Douglas Jenkins, Sr. was born January 17, 1943 in Jefferson Davis County and was the son of Claude Jenkins and Pauline Dyess Jenkins. He worked as a truck driver for Winn Dixie Foods for over 30 years. He was a member of Crescent City Baptist Church in Metairie, LA. Mr. Jenkins is survived by one son, Will Jenkins, Jr. of Metairie, LA; one step-son, Mike Prewett of Atlanta, GA; one step-daughter, Terri Anthony of Harvey, LA; three brothers: Charles Jenkins and Robert Jenkins both of Prentiss, MS, and Ralph Jenkins of Carson, MS; three sisters: Louise Horning of Prentiss, MS; Katherine Temple and Brenda Raynes, both of Carson, MS and one granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Rose Marie Arnold Jenkins; two brothers and one sister.
