Funeral services were held Thursday, January 14, 2010 at Old Hebron Baptist Church in Newhebron, MS for Mrs. Mary Lou “Chick” Daughdrill, age 99, of Monticello, MS who passed away January 12, 2010 at Wesley Medical Center in Hattiesburg. Internment followed at Newhebron Cemetery in Newhebron. Rev. Tommy Tanner, Rev. L. C. Anthony and Rev. Randy Gardner officiated. Pall bearers were Kevin Daughdrill, Kenny Daughdrill, Dyle Daughdrill, Buddy Buckley, Donald Cole and Keith Bridges. Mrs. Daughdrill was born on January 20, 1910 in Jefferson Davis County. She was the daughter of Burl Scarborough Sr. and Leona Holmes Scarborough. She was a homemaker. She graduated from New Hebron High School in 1928. She was a member of Old Hebron Baptist Church and was the oldest member on record. Ms. ‘Chick’ was a loyal, dedicated member of the Order of Eastern Star Hebron Chapter 174. Her survivors include a son, Harold Daughdrill of Prentiss; one brother, Burl Scarborough Jr. of Atlanta, GA; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert Lee Daughdrill, a son, a sister and three brothers.
