Frenchie Fortenberry

Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at Saulters Moore Funeral Home Chapel in Prentiss, MS for Mrs. Frenchie Fortenberry, age 98, of Hattiesburg, MS who passed away January 12, 2010 at The Windham House in Hattiesburg. Internment followed at Society Hill Cemetery. Rev. Ben James officiated. Pall bearers were Jack Sessions, Jimmy Jackson, Glynn Dale Saulters, Lowry Saulters, Ronnie Sessions, John Gonzales and Michael Marsolais. Mrs. Hilda Frenchie Swearingen Fortenberry was born on December 19, 1911 in Mississippi. She was a homemaker. She was influential in the development of the Prentiss Library and was a member of the D. A. R. She was a member of Prentiss Baptist Church. Her survivors include a daughter, Frenchie Ott Marsolais of Sunnyvale, CA; a granddaughter, Tatia Marsolais and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, D. W. Fortenberry, five sisters and one brother.
