Funeral services were held Monday, January 11, 2010 at Bethany Baptist Church in Prentiss, MS for Mr. William “Bill” Darnell Mann, age 64, of Prentiss, MS who passed away January 8, 2010 at his residence in Prentiss. Internment followed at Tyrone Cemetery in Prentiss. Rev. Tommie Broome and Rev. Doug Price officiated. Pall bearers were Phillip Herring, David Miller, John Perrin, Larry Don Spears, Korky Kerley, Wesley Lee and Les Dungan. Honorary pall bearers were Dwight Chance, James Welch, Billy Bridges, James Dale, Ira Coats, Robert Vince and James Earl Dickens. Mr. Mann was born on July 15, 1945 in Mobile, Alabama. He was the son of Grady Mann and Inez Brewer Mann. He worked with Georgia Pacific and St. Regis Paper Mill. He retired after 29 years as a Shipping Supervisor. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. He was the head of the Building & Grounds committee at the church. He enjoyed farming and was an avid cook. His survivors include his wife, Joan Mann of Prentiss; two children, Michelle Shows of Petal and Jeffrey Mann of Muskogee, OK; two step-children, Kim Shows of Hattiesburg and Paul Rogers of Brandon; one brother, Hal Williams of Lucedale; one sister, Bobbie Price of Deer Park, AL and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepfather, Dick Williams and a granddaughter, Cassie Mann.
