Stephen K. Jones

Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at Prentiss Baptist Church in Prentiss, MS for Mr. Stephen K. Jones, age 34, of Prentiss, MS who passed away November 8, 2009 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS. Internment followed at Old Good Hope Cemetery in Mendenhall, MS. Rev. Ben James and Dr. Randall Rich officiated. Pall bearers were Tommy McNease, Joseph Gatewood, Chris Cone, Wade Daughdrill, Brock Long and Brad Hedgepeth. Honorary pall bearers were Prentiss Country Club Men’s Golf Association, Prentiss Christian School Golf Team, Prentiss Christian School Class of 1994 and John Polk Dumas. Stephen Keith Jones was born on October 24, 1975 in Prentiss, Mississippi. He was the son of David Jones and Catha Smith Jones. Mr. Jones worked as a Bark Operator with Georgia Pacific. He graduated from Prentiss Christian School in 1994 and Jones Community College in 1997. He was an avid golfer and was President of the Golf Association and on the Board of Directors for the Prentiss Country Club. During his high school years, he was the first MPSA 3-point Shootout Winner in basketball and was voted MVP in Golf for 3 years. While attending college, he competed in the Junior National’s for Golf. He was a member of Prentiss Baptist Church. Mr. Jones is survived by his parents, David and Catha Jones of Prentiss; a sister, Brooke Williamson and husband, Kane of Madison, MS; four uncles, one aunt and a nephew, Landry Williamson. He was preceded in death by his brother, Scott Jones. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Stephen K. Jones Memorial Fund at Regions Bank in Prentiss, MS.
