Funeral services were held Saturday, November 7, 2009 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Bassfield, MS for Mr. Edmond Fagan, age 78, of Carson, MS who passed away November 5, 2009 at his residence in Carson. Internment followed at St. Elizabeth’s Cemetery in Carson. Father Eappen Joseph officiated. Pall bearers were Pete Stephens, Thomas Earl Stephens, Jimmy Kerley, James Fagan, Belton Fagan and Phillip Allday. Mr. Joseph Edmond Fagan was born July 14, 1931 in Jefferson Davis County, Mississippi. He was the son of Jim Fagan and Rebecca O’Connell Fagan. He worked as a Longshoreman with the New Orleans Long Shoreman’s Union for 36 years before retiring. He served in the US Army and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Bassfield. Mr. Fagan is survived by his sons, Ronnie Fagan of Bassfield, and Clint Fagan of Carson; daughters, Bae Weatherford of Sumrall and Ginny Hust of Seminary, one sister, Lois Bishop of Jacksonville, FL; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Hattie Fagan, a son, Tony Fagan and two sisters.
