Gary N. Odum, Sr.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at Saulters Moore Funeral Home Chapel in Prentiss, MS for Mr. Gary N. Odum, Sr., age 80, of Prentiss, MS who passed away November 1, 2009 at his residence. Internment followed at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Prentiss. Dr. French Tripp officiated. Pall bearers were Chris Odum, Charlie Odum, Charles Stafford, David Nobles, Rusty Odum and David Odum. Mr. Gary Norton Odum, Sr. was born January 18, 1929 in Prentiss, Mississippi. He was the son of Frank H. Odum and Earnestine Brinson Odum. Mr. Odum worked with St. Regis Paper Company and then with Georgia Pacific. He worked with the maintenance department of both companies before retiring after 25 years. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Prentiss Presbyterian Church. Mr. Odum is survived by his wife, Betty Odum of Prentiss; a son, Gary Odum Jr. of Hattiesburg; two daughters, Margaret Nobles of Austin, TX and Susan Odum of Prentiss; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, two sisters and one great grandchildren.
