Grover Daughdrill

Funeral services were held Thursday, November 5, 2009 at Saulters Moore Funeral Home Chapel in Prentiss, MS for Mr. Grover Daughdrill, age 91, of Prentiss, MS who passed away October 30, 2009 at Jefferson Davis Community Hospital Extended Care Facility in Prentiss, MS. Internment followed at Whitesand Cemetery in Prentiss. Rev. L. C. Anthony and Rev. Charles Burnham officiated. Pall bearers were Sonny Langston, Glenn Griffith, Mitchell Roberts, Wesley Daughdrill, Tommy Walker and Joe Lee. Mr. Thomas Grover Daughdrill was born February 7, 1918 in Lawrence County, Mississippi and raised in Silver Creek. One of seven children, he was the son of Thomas Jefferson Daughdrill and Loy Jolly Daughdrill. He was a self employed farmer. He served in the US Army Air Corps and was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of the AARP and had been a Mason for more than 50 years. He was a member of Whitesand Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mr. Daughdrill is survived by his sons, Mickey Daughdrill (Bonnie) and Dennis Daughdrill (Sally) all of Prentiss; four sisters, Mary Lee of Magee, Hazel McInnis of Seminary, Annalee Bozeman of Hattiesburg, Doris Mauney of Savannah, GA; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 53 years, Eva Lee Daughdrill, a daughter, Betty Carol Daughdrill and two sisters.
