Clara Mae Roberts

Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at Saulters Moore Funeral Home in Prentiss, MS for Mrs. Clara Mae Roberts, age 87, of Prentiss who passed away Sunday, October 25, 2009 at Hardy Wilson Memorial Hospital in Hazlehurst, MS. Interment followed at Bethany Cemetery in Prentiss. Rev. Wallace Clark, Rev. L. C. Anthony and Rev. Tommy Broome officiated. Pall bearers were James Robertson, Chris Roberts, Bryan Robertson, Haggin Lee, Caleb Fortenberry and Ray Fortenberry. Honorary pall bearers were Patrick Ginn and Johnny Ginn. Mrs. Clara Mae Roberts was born on December 24, 1921 in Lawrence County, Mississippi. She was the daughter of Robert “Bob” Hamilton and Susie Berry Hamilton. She was a homemaker and a seamstress. She enjoyed making quilts. She loved going to church,her church family, and giving parties. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. Mrs. Roberts is survived by a son, Ray Roberts of Monticello; daughters, Brenda Robertson and Patricia Clark both of Silver Creek; ten grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Reggie Roberts, a son, three sisters, a brother and a grandchild.
