Funeral services will be held Monday, October 9, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Prentiss Baptist Church in Prentiss MS for Marlon Keith Bridges, age 59, of Prentiss MS who unexpectedly passed away on October 4, 2017.Interment will follow in Whitesand Baptist Church Cemetery.Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss is in charge of all arrangements. Visitation will be Sunday, October 8, 2017 at Saulters Moore Funeral Home in Prentiss, MS from 5:30 to 8:00 PM. Keith was born July 6, 1958 in Prentiss, MS. He was the son of James Toxie Bridges and Amy Jane Sanford Bridges Boleware. He was in the third graduating class of Prentiss Christian School in 1976. He received his BS from the University of Mississippi. He also attended the Louisiana State University School of Banking. He was an active member of Prentiss Baptist Church, a deacon, Sunday School teacher, past director of Sunday School, and served on numerous committees. Keith was the agency manager of Farm Bureau Insurance of Prentiss. Before coming to Farm Bureau he was manager of Lamar Bank and radio station, WJDR. Keith loved athletics, he loved cars, he loved music, and he loved working on the farm. But more than this, Keith loved serving his fellow man, whether through his church, his community, his work, or his school. But most of all, Keith loved God, and he wanted everyone he knew to love God too. Keith’s many accomplishments include: the Voice of the Prentiss Christian Saints and the Jefferson Davis County Jaguars football team. He had broadcasted every state championship for the Bassfield Yellow Jackets.He was an Alderman for 8 years for the Town of Prentiss, Jefferson Davis County Hospital Board of Trustees, and the Run for the Roses Race Committee.He was the past President of the Prentiss Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Fellow, past President of the Prentiss Christian School Board of Trustees, past member of the Jefferson Davis County Economic Development, past member of the Jefferson Davis County Chamber of Commerce, past member of the South Mississippi Planning and Development Authority, selected Top 40 Under 40 in Mississippi Business Journal in 1996 and 2014 Eureka Arts Club Honoree. Keith is survived by his wife of 29 years, Janice Holmes Bridges of Prentiss, MS; one daughter Jessica Bridges Jackson (Zack) of Prentiss, MS;one granddaughter Finley Rose Jackson of Prentiss, MS. His father,James Toxie Bridges and step mother, Carol Bridges of Midland, MI. Two brothers, Todd Bridges (Monica) of Park Ridge, IL and Toby Bridges (Sheila) of Auburn, MI; one sister, Traci Bridges of Lansing, MI; five nieces and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Amy Jane Sanford Bridges Boleware and grandparents, Clarence and Thelma Bridges of Prentiss, MS and Homer and Lizzie Sanford of the Lone Star community of MS.
