Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at Saulters Moore Funeral Home Chapel in Prentiss, MS for Mr. Clarence A. “Baby” Bass, age 77, of Carson, MS who passed away October 11, 2009 at Jefferson Davis Community Hospital in Prentiss, MS. Internment followed at Brady Cemetery in Prentiss. Rev. L. C. Anthony officiated. Pall bearers were Will Jones, Greg McPhail, Steve Snell, Glen Davis, Mitchell Harvey and Preston Williams. Honorary pall bearers were Billy Delancey, Richard Luer and Willard Kirley. Mr. Clarence A. “Baby” Bass was born May 30, 1932 in Jefferson Davis County, Mississippi. He was the son of Clarence W. Bass and Sarah Delancey Bass, who were a close and loving family. He was a wonderful father and grandfather, an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed the company of his friends that often dropped by for a visit. Mr. Bass served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a Tool Pusher for Odeco Offshore Drilling. He was a member of the VFW chapter in Magee and a member of Bethany Baptist Church. Mr. Bass is survived by his daughters, Laurie Sears of Carson, MS and Debra Jean Hassler of Willow Grove, PA; sons, Timmy Bass of Kokomo, MS and Tony Bass of Prentiss, MS; step daughters, Gloria McRaney and Wanda Sullivan both of Newhebron, MS; step sons, Charlie Kiser of Mt. Olive, MS and George Lewis of Magee, MS; one sister, Nell Boone of Columbia, MS; thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and a grandchild.
