Johnnie Reece McNease

Funeral services were held Friday, October 2, 2009 at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Bassfield, MS for Mr. Johnnie R. McNease, age 86, of Bassfield, MS who passed away September 30, 2009 at Jefferson Davis Community Hospital in Prentiss, MS. Internment followed at Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery in Bassfield. Rev. Jackie Cooke and Rev. David Strebeck officiated. Pall bearers were Jeffrey Lee, Wesley Lee, Marty Raybourn, Rickey Hall, Jonathan Culpepper, Bobby McNease and Joshua Lee. Mr. Johnny Reece McNease was born March 10, 1923 in Jefferson Davis County, Mississippi. He was the son of Frank Bolton McNease, Sr. and Ona Belle Baker McNease. He was a carpenter and a farmer. He served in the US Navy during World War II. He was a member and deacon of Ebenezer Baptist Church. Mr. McNease is survived by his wife, Carlene Kyzar McNease of Bassfield; sons, Barry McNease of Bassfield and Doug McNease of Purvis; daughters, Janet Lee of Bassfield and Lisa Dyess of Pascagoula; eleven grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother.
