Gerald W Stamps

Funeral services were held Friday, September 11, 2009 at Saulters Moore Funeral Home Chapel in Prentiss, MS for Mr. Gerald W. Stamps, age 69, of Carson, MS who passed away September 9, 2009 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg. Internment followed at St. Elizabeth’s Cemetery in Carson. Rev. Randy Gardner officiated. Pall bearers were Mitchell Daley, Larry Daley, Leonard Daley, Matthew Daley, Nathan Daley and Josh Daley. Mr. Gerald W. Stamps was born on February 16, 1940 in Marion County, MS. He was the son of Winford Stamps and Maggie Buckley Stamps. He worked offshore for more than twenty years before changing careers. He retired from Miller Transport after fourteen years. He also served with the National Guard. Mr. Turnage is survived by his wife, Eva Stamps of Carson; son, Russell Stamps of Hattiesburg; daughters, Donna Sylvest of Bassfield, Angie Hathorn of Bassfield and Lori Speights of Carriere; sisters, Elouise Daley of Bassfield, Betty Skinner of Moss Point and Linda Barbee of Baton Rouge, LA; and fourteen grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
