Funeral Services for Gerald Turnage were held at 11:00am on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at the Oakvale Baptist Church. Mr. Turnage, age 75, passed away from this life Monday, January 30, 2017, in Oakvale. The Reverend Eddie Myers and Reverend Richard Green officiated and interment followed in the Oakvale Baptist Church Cemetery. Saulters-Moore Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Blayke Turnage, Trystan Turnage, Clayton Daniel, Joey Daniel, Patrick Turnage, Brady Turnage, and Caleb Hill.. Gerald Turnage was born on March 30, 1941 in Jackson to George Curtis Turnage and Melinda Smith Turnage. Mr. Turnage was a retired Tool Pusher from the Offshore Oil Industry and was a member of Oakvale Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon. Mr. Turnage was preceded in death by his mother and father; his wife Patsy Turnage; 1 grandchild; 4 sisters, and 3 brothers. Survivors include 2 daughters, Tammy Daniels of Silver Creek and Sherry Hill of Oakvale; 4 sons, Pat Turnage, Bruce Turnage, Jonathan Turnage, and Chris Turnage, all of Oakvale; 18 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Carroll Turnage of Oakvale, Dewey Turnage of Long Beach, and Wayne Turnage of Monticello; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
