Funeral services were held Monday, July 20, 2009, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Bassfield for Mrs. Mary Natalie Stephens, age 84, of Carson, MS who died Friday, July 17, 2009 at her residence in Carson. Father Eappen Joseph officiated. Interment followed at St. James Cemetery. Pallbearers were Drew Stephens, James Earl Stephens, Shawn Allen, David Fuller, Kevin Burns, and Ralph Hanegan. Honorary pallbearer was Joseph White. Ms. Natalie Stephens, age 84, was a native of Jefferson Davis County and the daughter of James Edward Fagan and Rebecca O’Connell Fagan. She worked at Midland Shirt Factory for 25 years and later retired as a cafeteria worker in the Jefferson Davis County Schools. She was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Bassfield. Mrs. Stephens is survived by three sons, Thomas Earl Stephens and James E. ‘Jimmy’ Stephens, both of Carson, and Pete Stephens of Bassfield; three daughters, Rebecca White of Prentiss, Linda Allday and Jeannell Allday both of Carson; one brother, Edmond Fagan of Bassfield; one sister, Lois Bishop of Tallahassee, FL; seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Mary Cabrina Fagan, a granddaughter, Thomala Carol Stephens, three grandsons, Jimmy Dale and Brian White and Thomas R. Stephens, and a great granddaughter, Ashton White.
