Bill Staples

Funeral services were held Sunday, September 25, 2016 at Saulters Moore Funeral Chapel in Prentiss, MS for Mr. Billy H. Staples, age 82, of Prentiss, who passed away Friday, September 23, 2016 at the Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg. Interment followed in Phalti Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of arrangements. Rev. Billy Bridges officiated. Pallbearers were: Mike Bayles, Greg Lee, Ethan Lee, Mathew Bayles, Jason CoLip and Duncan Rhodes. Mr. Billy was born June 16, 1934 in Wayne County. He served In the Navy. He owned and operated Staples Jewelry in Prentiss for eleven years. He worked at the hospital for a few years as well. He was a Deacon at Phalti and Prentiss Baptist Churches. He was a member at Phalti Baptist church. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou (Sparkman) Staples of Prentiss, MS. Two daughters: Rhonda Bayles, and husband Mike; and Pam Lee and husband Greg, all of Prentiss, MS. One step-son, Anthony Sparkman of Columbus, GA. One step-daughter, Amelia Rhodes and husband David of Prairieville, LA. 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
