Emily Erette Walker

Funeral Services were held Thursday June 2, 2016 at Saulters Moore Chapel in Prentiss, MS for Mrs. Emily Erette Walker, age 72, who passed away on May 30, 2016 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Rev. Billy Bridges officiated. Pallbearers were: Jerry Calvert, John Robert Lee, Jason Hinton, Jason Lee, Jeremy Calvert and Wayne Bass. Mrs. Emily was born March 22, 1944 in Jones County, MS to Mr. Cleo Mayatt and Mrs. Mae Berta Nelson Mayatt. She worked as a seamstress for New Hebron Manufacturing for a number of years. She also worked at the cafeteria in Prentiss High School. She then became a homemaker. She was a member of Rocky Branch Baptist Church in Sumrall, MS. She is survived by her son, David Lee “Daba” of New Hebron, MS; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one sister, Joyce Byrd of Sanford, MS. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Bernice Lee and Herman Walker; two sons, Billy Ray Barnes and William Lee Barnes; one granddaughter, Chelsea Hunt and one sister, Mary Patrick.
