Julia Delma Daughdrill

Funeral services were held Monday, May 4, 2009 at New Hebron Baptist Church in New Hebron, MS for Mrs. Julia Delma Daughdrill, age 91, of Prentiss, who passed away May 1, 2009 at the Jefferson Davis Community Hospital in Prentiss. Internment followed at New Hebron Cemetery. Rev. Derek Lambert and Rev. Ben James officiated. Pall bearers were Charner Little, Bobby Lee, Brad Matthews, Jim Turnage, John Mark Riley and Joe Vasko. Mrs. Daughdrill was a native of New Hebron born on June 10, 1917 to William Homer and Julia Shivers Lane. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 67 years, Wilson Daughdrill; two sisters, Louella Lane Little and Dorothy Lane and one brother, Prentiss Lane. She is survived by a son, Dr. Roy Daughdrill and wife, Gerry of Wesson; daughter, Betty Coulter and husband, Wiley of Prentiss; four grandchildren, Teresa Coulter of Prentiss, Dawn Coulter of Louisville, KY, Stacey Coulter and husband, Reuben Harvey of Jackson and Harrell Coulter and wife, Charlotte of Prentiss; two great grandchildren, Cheyenne and Kayla Coulter; and a brother, Herman Lane of New Hebron. Mrs. Daughdrill was a member of the Class of 1934 of New Hebron High School and was a longtime member of New Hebron Baptist Church. She taught the Dorcas Sunday School Class for many years. She will be remembered for her love for family and her faith in the Lord. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to New Hebron Baptist Church Building Fund, P O Box 37, New Hebron, MS 39140.
