Bessie M Broome

Funeral services were held Sunday, May 3, 2009 at Saulters Moore Funeral Chapel in Prentiss, MS for Mrs. Bessie Martha Broome, age 96, of Prentiss, who passed away May 1, 2009 at the Jefferson Davis Extended Care Facility in Prentiss. Internment followed at Mobley Cemetery. Rev. Carroll Rippy officiated. Pall bearers were Darron Bourne, Brent King, Preston Tenney, P. J. Tenney and Shawn Lacour. Mrs. Broome a native of Jefferson Davis County was born February 19, 1913 the daughter of Lonzo and Lola Stephens Mobley. She worked as a clerk with the local dry cleaners. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. She is survived by her son, Royce Etheridge of Columbia; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Louise Griffith of Prentiss. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Linton Etheridge and Preston Broome, and a daughter, Lola Mae Tenney.
