Marcelle Jones

Funeral services were held Friday, April 24, 2009 at Saulters Moore Funeral Chapel in Prentiss, MS for Mr. Willis Marcelle Jones, Sr., age 68, of Prentiss, MS who passed away April 20, 2009 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, AL. Internment followed at Dublin Cemetery. Rev. Robert Cooper, Rev. L. C. Anthony and Rev. Ben James officiated. Pall bearers were Timmy Bass, J. T. Lee, Patrick Berry, Steve Pittman, Charles Reid and Billy Wayne Henderson. Mr. Jones was born March 13, 1941, the son of Perry Jones and Christine Loftin Jones. He was an Auto Mechanic and worked alongside his father at the Auto Repair Shop they owned in Prentiss. He was an avid race car fan. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a member of Dublin Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Betty Jones of Prentiss, a daughter, Misty Barrett of Purvis, MS; three sons, Will Jones of Brandon, MS, Perry Jones of Prentiss and Stan Jones of Prentiss; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Kidney Foundation.
