Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at New Chapel United Pentecostal Church in Collins for Mrs. Cherilene Fuller Redd, age 70, of Bassfield who passed away April 17, 2009 at her residence. Internment followed at New Chapel Cemetery. The Rev. Rodney Bankens, Rev. Ken Hickman and Rev. David Kile officiated. Pall bearers were Chase Hilburn, Johnny Glenn Bates, Roy Hilburn, Mitchell Redd, James Flowers and Chris McLendon. Mrs. Redd was born November 9, 1938 in Lawrence County, MS. She was the daughter of Hulon Fuller and Ethel McNease Fuller. She was a homemaker. She was married to her husband, Edward for 52 years. She was also a member of New Chapel United Pentecostal Church. She is survived by a son, Floyd “Buddy” Redd (Jan) of Foxworth, MS; four daughters, Shelia McClendon (Robert) of Prentiss, MS, Brenda Sue Beavers (Don) of Pelahatchie, MS, Cherry Hamilton (Robert) of Carson, MS, Diane Kitchens (James Flowers) of Collins, MS; twelve grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Foster of Prentiss, MS, Linda Tucker of Dayton, TX, and Melissa Dyess of Carson, MS. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Edward, a son, a daughter, five brothers and three sisters. In lieu of flowers, a benefit account for Edward and Cherilene Redd has been established at Hancock Bank.
