Wintford Herrington

Mr. Wintford J. Herrington Funeral services were held Monday February 1, 2016 at Saulters Moore Chapel in Prentiss, MS for Mr. Wintford “Wimp” Herrington, age 81, who passed away on January 27, 2016 in Moss Point, MS. Rev. Ray Hodges officiated. Pallbearers were: Thomas Sayre, Jim Barnett, Josh Fisher, Randy Barnett, Tyler Pierce and Ben Jones. Honorary bearer was Clay Dickerson. Mr. Wintford was born March 1, 1934. He was the son of Reecie Herrington and Lena Herrington. He was the first grandchild and was looked up to by all his nieces, nephews and cousins. After leaving High School, he loved being a hard working farmer and continued to do that many years. He was the family historian, never forgetting who was born to who or anyone’s name. It was evident to me that “Wimp” was a character when he came in and ordered a pink casket for his funeral. He was very frugal and the pink one was one of the lowest in price. He was one of a kind and will be missed by many. He is survived by his nieces, nephew and a special friend, Mary Hellen Ward. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.
