Funeral services were held Monday December 14, 2015 at Saulters Moore Chapel in Prentiss, MS for Mrs. Odelle Manton Saulters, age 96, who passed away on December 10, 2015 at her residence in Hernando, MS. Interment followed at Prentiss Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Rev. Sonny Adkins, Rev. Jimmy McGee and Rev. Randy Gardner officiated. Pall bearers were: Stuart Saulters, Brian Ray, Glen Dale Saulters, Jamie Robinson, Gannon Roger and Kevin Saulters. Mrs. Odelle was born on April 29, 1919 in Jefferson Davis County, MS. She was the daughter of Colbert Manton and Ollie Speights Manton. After graduating from Bassfield High School she attended the State Teachers College in Hattiesburg, MS (now USM). She married Ford Saulters on April 20, 1943. She had a career as a business teacher in Bassfield, MS. She worked for thirty plus years for the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service (ASCS) in Jefferson Davis County. She retired in 1981. She loved to read books, especially romance novels and work in her yard. She played bunko and bingo and went to exercise classes with other residents of Wesley Meadows. She is survived by her son, Johnny Saulters (Vera Ann) of Hernando, MS Her granddaughter, Sally Ray and husband Brian of Hernando, MS; Her grandson, Stuart Saulters (Kacie) of Washington, D.C; Her great grandchildren, Vera Kate and Reid Ray of Hernando, MS; Her sister Imogene Robbins, of Columbia, MS.
