Mickael Odell Bates

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at Saulters Moore Funeral Chapel in Prentiss, MS for Mr. Mickael Odell Bates, age 55, of Mendenhall, MS who passed away Sunday, March 22, 2009 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS. Internment followed at the Bates Family Cemetery. Rev. Ken Roberts officiated. Pall bearers were Joseph Parker, Eric Taylor, Tal Bates, Brandon Cates, Matthew Burrow, Emma Fairchild, Jessie Lavelle Bates and Travis Cates. Honorary pall bearers were Nicholas Cates, Tyler Cates, Buck Knox, Billy Bates Jr., Jonathon Fairley, Squeaky Knotts and Joe Bates. Mr. Bates was born on December 11, 1953 in Jefferson Davis County, MS, the son of Rufus T. Bates Sr. and Oddie Skinner Bates. He was a Heavy Equipment Operator for many years. He is survived by a daughter, Francis Smith of Bay Springs, MS; a son, Dale Williams of Carson; six grandchildren; four sisters, Darnell Parker of Pinola, Betty Brown Fant of Prentiss, Wendy Fairchild of Hattiesburg, Elizabeth Dunaway of Robin Hood, MS; two brothers, Jessie Bates and Tommy Bates both of Carson. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
