Oliver Bridges

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 21, 2009 at Saulters Moore Funeral Chapel in Prentiss, MS for Mr. Oliver Louis Bridges, age 81, of Prentiss, MS who passed away Friday, March 20, 2009 at Jefferson Davis Community Hospital in Prentiss, MS. Internment followed at Whitesand Cemetery. Rev. Charles Burnham officiated. Pall bearers were Curtis Bridges Jr., Danny Harris, Bobby Shivers, Gary Garner, Billy Harold Bridges and Larry Foster. Mr. Bridges was born on November 5, 1927 in Jefferson Davis County, MS, the son of Virgil L. Bridges, Sr. and Readus Smith Bridges. He was a cattle farmer. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Whitesand Baptist Church. He is survived by a sister, Elizabeth Griffith of Prentiss; two brothers, Olen Bridges of Biloxi, Ms and V. L. Bridges of Franklinton, LA; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and a sister.
