Perry Jones

Funeral services were held Thursday, March 19, 2009 at Saulters Moore Funeral Chapel in Prentiss, MS for Mr. William Perry Jones, age 87, of Prentiss, MS who passed away Monday, March 16, 2009 at Jefferson Davis Extended Care Facility in Prentiss, MS. Internment followed at Dublin Cemetery. Rev. L. C. Anthony and Rev. Robert Cooper officiated. Pall bearers were Stephen Pittman, Charles Reid, Cody Jones, Greg Berry, P. K. Berry and Johnny Boleware. Mr. Jones was born on May 11, 1921 in Jefferson Davis County, MS, the son of Robert Jones and Josephine King Jones. He owned and operated his own Auto Repair Shop for more than 40 years in the Prentiss area. He served in the US Army during World War II and was the recipient of a Purple Heart. He was a member of Dublin Baptist Church and had served as a Deacon. He was also a Gideon. He is survived by a son, Marcel Jones of Prentiss; four grandchildren, Perry Jones, Stan Jones, Will Jones and Misty Barrett; a brother, Johan Ray Jones of Vicksburg, MS; a sister, Creula Parker of Gulfport, MS; seven great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Christine Jones, three brothers and a sister.
