Tommie Hunter

Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at Saulters Moore Funeral Chapel in Prentiss, MS for Mr. Charles Thomas Hunter, age 78, of Prentiss, MS who passed away Sunday, March 15, 2009 at Jefferson Davis Community Hospital in Prentiss, MS. Internment followed at Bethany Cemetery. Rev. Tommy Broome and Rev. Robby Hathorn officiated. Pall bearers were Robby Hathorn, Brad Jones, Blake Jones, Christopher Harvey, Justin Harvey and Matt Harvey. Honorary pall bearers were the members of MS Motor Vehicle Controllers. Mr. Hunter was born on February 7, 1931 in Jones County MS, the son of Charlie L. Hunter and Zella Thomas Hunter. He was employed as a superintendent with Mississippi Motor Vehicles for 13 years and retired from Hover Gravel Company in Hattiesburg, MS. He served in the US Army and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. Mr. Hunter is survived by a daughter, Debbie Burrow (Glen) of Prentiss; step daughters, Tammy Jones (George) of Brandon, Kim Lott (Roger) of Petal; step son, Mitchell Harvey (Donna) of Monticello; a sister, Charlene Beahm of Warner Robbins, GA; eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Jeanette Hunter.
