Thelma C Holland

Funeral services were held Friday, February 20, 2009 at Bassfield Baptist Church for Mrs. Thelma C. Holland, age 92, of Hattiesburg, MS who passed away February 18, 2009 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS. Internment followed at Bassfield Cemetery. Rev. Ken Roberts officiated. Pall bearers were Curt Holland, James Clark Moore, Brandon Moore, James Moore, Johnny Perren and Carey Holland. Mrs. Holland was born in Marion County MS on April 9, 1916, the daughter of Ed Courtney and Maybelle Pace Courtney. She worked as a seamstress for Edward Hyman in Bassfield and had worked for Reliance Company in Columbia. She was a member of Bassfield Baptist Church. She is survived by a son, Jerry Holland of Bassfield; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a sister, Verta Green of Hattiesburg, MS. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Doc Holland, two brothers and three sisters.
