Betty Raynes

Graveside services were held Monday, February 9, 2009 at Greens Creek Cemetery in Carson, MS for Mrs. Betty Jean Raynes, age 75, of Carson, MS who died February 7, 2009 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg. Rev. Charles Lee Loftin officiated. Pall Bearers were Wesley Haddox, Billy Wayne Jackson, Jackie O’Quinn, Kevin O’Quinn, Joe Smith and Paul Jordan. Mrs. Raynes was born in Jefferson Davis County, MS on September 9, 1933 the daughter of Clifton Smith and Cordia Anderson Smith. She was a seamstress and worked for Edward Hyman for 20 years. She was a member of Greens Creek Baptist Church. She is survived by her sons, Kirk Raynes of Oakvale, Pete Raynes of Prentiss and Rex Raynes of Carson; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one brother, Scotty Smith of Collins; and one sister, Mae Haddox of Carson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two grandchildren and a son.
