Ralph McNease

Funeral services were held Sunday, December 21st, 2008, at Saulters Moore Funeral Chapel for Otho Ralph McNease, age 75, of Bassfield, who died December 19th at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Rev. Kenneth Stringer and Rev. Ken Roberts officiated. Interment followed at Bassfield Cemetery. Pall Bearers were: Charles Watts, Charlie Street, Kyle Davis, Roland Dyess, Sammy Hathorn and Leon Speights. Honorary pall bearers were the Board Members of Farm Bureau. Mr. McNease was born in Jefferson Davis County MS on September 8, 1933, the son of Otho McNease and Janie Speights McNease. He was a farmer and owned McNease Finance Company. He also served as an election commissioner for Jeff Davis County for sixteen years. He was a mason, served on the Farm Bureau Board, and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the US Air Force. He was a member of Bassfield Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife--Vonnie Jean Miller McNease of Bassfield; daughters--Gay Ann Davies of Bassfield, and Janet Green of Bassfield; three grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents.
