Aletha Mae Griffith

Funeral services will be held, Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at Saulters Moore Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be 12:30 P.M. until service time on Wednesday. Aletha Mae Griffith, age 96, passed away Monday, November 17, 2008. Born in Jefferson Davis County, MS, she lived most of her life in Jackson. She is survived by one son, Daniel Lavon Fagan, sixteen grandchildren, and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Houston and Lillie Bell Lee, husbands, Roy Fagan and Ben Griffith, and five children, Donna Fagan, Thomas Fagan, Bobbie Sumrall, John Fagan and Dorothy Taylor. Her last two years were spent watching the birds from her window and telling stories from her long life to her grand and great-grandchildren. Her favorite quotes were, “Slow me down, Lord”, “One day at a time”, and “God and Jesus are walking with us every step of the way”. Her bright smile and quick sense of humor will be missed by all.
