Sammie Dyess

Funeral services were held Friday September 26, 2014 at Greens Creek Baptist Church in Carson, MS for Mr. Sammie Lee Dyess, age 79, who passed away on September 24, 2014 at his residence in Carson. Interment followed at Greens Creek Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Rev. Wayne Woolwine and Rev. Bob Burge officiated. Pall bearers were: Josh Miller, Greg Dyess, Randy Dyess, Dale Dyess, Billy Chambliss and Ken Pierce. Sammie was born on December 10, 1934 in Louisiana. He was the son of D.A. Dyess and Louena Pierce Dyess. He owned and operated his own trucking company. He was an avid fisherman and a member of Greens Creek Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Lucille Dyess. Two sons, Gary Dyess and Mark Allen Dyess all of Carson. Three grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Two brothers, Joe Terrell Dyess of Prentiss and Dennis Hilton Dyess of Carson.
