Verlee Cothern

Funeral services were held Tuesday September 9, 2014 for 11:00 am at Saulters Moore Chapel in Prentiss for Lucy Verlee Cothern, age 95, who passed away on September 7, 2014 at her home in Hattiesburg. Interment followed at Prentiss Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Rev. Terry Wallace officiated. Pall bearers were, Jimmy Don Shoemaker, John Emmitt Stamps, Kevin Stamps, Marty Kendrick, Lane Stephenson and Johnny Stamps. Lucy Verlee was the daughter of Joe Stuckey and Lucy Moree Stuckey. She was a homemaker and also worked at the Jeffersonian for years as well as the Riley cotton gin. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Myra Nell Stamps of Hattiesburg, 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren, 2 stepson’s, Nikki Cothern of Florence and David Cothern of Jayess and her sister, Addie Mae Holliman of Hattiesburg .
