Funeral services were held Saturday August 30, 2014 for 10:00 am at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Bassfield for Mr. Jesse “Scott” Hatton, age 80, who passed away on August 26, 2014 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS. Family and friends visited on Friday 8-29-14 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Ebenezer Baptist Church. Interment followed at Ebenezer Cemetery. Masonic Rites were held at the graveside. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Rev. Macon Phillips, Rev. Jackie Cooke, Rev. Charlie Cook and Rev. Valton Douglas officiated. Scott was born on December 31, 1933 in Jefferson Davis County. He was the son of Thomas and Gaye Hatton. He was a teacher in the public school system and a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. He was a mason for 50 years achieving Master mason status. He is survived by his wife Sandra of Bassfield; two sons, Tommy (Jan) Hatton and Jeff Hatton of Carson; his brother, Lewis (Virginia) Hatton of Lake Charles, LA; two grandchildren Kristi and Brandi; two great grandchildren, Jonathon and Kennedy; a host of nieces and nephews and special friends.
