Funeral services were held August 19, 2014 at Prentiss Baptist Church in Prentiss, MS for Mrs. Margie Polk McPhail Magee, age 95, who passed away on August 16, 2014 at the Lawrence county nursing center in Monticello. Interment followed at Antioch Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Brothers, Ben James, Tim McCaffrey and Jimmy McGee officiated. Pall bearers were, Mark McPhail, Michael McPhail, Jason McPhail, Troy Bourgoyne, Bill Myers, Keith Braddock and Don Jackson. Honorary Pallbearers were, members of the Alla Faye Fike Sunday School Class at Prentiss Baptist Church. Mrs. Margie was born on January 6, 1919 in Jefferson Davis Co, MS. She was the daughter of David Lee Polk and Tamar Broome. She worked as a sales clerk and seamstress. She was a member of Prentiss Baptist Church and former member of Carson Baptist Church. She served in many positions in WMU, VBS, Sunday school, Training Union Director, Music Involvement at Prentiss Baptist and Carson Baptist. She is survived by two daughters, Peggy McLean of Monticello and Shirley Jones of Terry, MS. Two sons, Glenn McPhail of Prentiss and Ronald McPhail of Hattiesburg, MS. Seven grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, one daughter, three brothers and three sisters.
