Funeral services were held Sunday, August 10, 2014 at Saulters Moore Funeral Home Chapel for Mr. James Ansel “Jimmy” Cox, age 77, who died Friday, August 8, 2014 at his residence in Jefferson Davis County. Rev. Jeff Easterling officiated. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Jimmy was born November 18, 1936 in New Mexico. He was the son of James Wesley Cox and Evelyn Gardner Cox. He was “A Cowboy’s Cowboy”; he worked for Cal Maine Farms as a Cattle Manager and he also worked for Producers Livestock Auction Co. He was an avid Team Roper and loved the rodeo life. He was of the Methodist faith. He is survived by four daughters: Wendy Berry of New Hebron, MS; Jamie Cox of Ft. Worth, TX; Polly Cox of Livingston, LA; and Mary Kathryn Cox of Canton, MS; three sisters: Susan Davis of Brandon, MS; GeneAnne Grantham of Lexington, MS and Helen Robertson of Phoenix, AZ and three grandchildren.
