Mary Steverson Michaels

Funeral services were held Sunday, June 22, 2014 at Saulters Moore Funeral Chapel in Prentiss, MS for Mrs. Mary “Ms. Steve” Steverson Michaels, age 95, who passed away on June 20, 2014 at Magnolia Gardens of Ellisville, MS. Interment followed at the New Hebron Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Rev. John Cockrell officiated. Pall Bearers were Chad Shivers, David Sides, Doug Steverson, Lonnie Steverson, Jason Huffman, Shawn Steverson and Tyler Shivers. “Ms. Steve”, as she was affectionately known, was born on January 22, 1919 in Chloride, Arizona. She was the daughter of Patrick C. Roe and Susie Yergin Roe. After moving to Mississippi, she started New Hebron Manufacturing Company in 1952. She owned the company for the next 43 years before retiring. She was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Michaels is survived by her sons, Jack Steverson (Shirley) of Hattiesburg, MS, Buddy Steverson (Mary Ann) of Prentiss, MS; her daughter, Sue Steverson of Hattiesburg, MS; her ten grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren; and her sister, Thelma Rollins of Sarasota, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, one daughter, two brothers, four sisters and one great-granddaughter.
