Bobbie Walden Foster Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Prentiss Baptist Church in Prentiss, MS. for Mrs. Bobbie Walden Foster age 90, who passed away on May 17, 2014. Interment followed at Prentiss Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Dr. David Michel, Dr. Randy Rich and Rev. Ben James officiated. Pallbearers were: James Dale, Robert Davis, Bill Hathorn, Billy Parish, Eddie Speights, Randy Stamps, Bill Whittington and Hiram Williams. Honorary Pallbearers were: Members of the Ladies Sunday school class and Prentiss Baptist Church. Bobbie Walden Foster was born on January 21, 1924 to Ben Garrett and Annie Lou Dale Walden. She was a graduate of Prentiss High School, Mississippi College and Soule’ Business College in New Orleans, LA. At Mississippi College she was Junior Class President and Miss Mississippi College. She also taught at Soule’ Business College, was Interim Bursar at Mississippi College, Bookkeeper for R. B. Dale, Cotton Buyer, Medical Center of Prentiss and in her husband’s retail store. She Married Ingram L. Foster, Jr. February 15, 1948. They were the proud parents of three children. Bobbie was active in many activities at Prentiss Baptist Church, where she was a life-long member. She was a choir member for 35 years; children’s choir worker; Hostess Committee Chairman, W.M.U. Director; and Outreach Leader for her Sunday school class. She also served as Clerk and W.M.U. Secretary/Treasurer of Covington-Jeff Davis Baptist Association. She served on the Long Range Study Committee for Gulf Shores Baptist Assembly and the Committee on Committees of the Mississippi Baptist Convention Board. In the community she was a charter Member and first president of the Twentieth Century Club. In the Jeff Davis Chamber of Commerce she served as Director and was selected as Outstanding Citizen of the Year. Bobbie, as she is affectionately known to her family and close friends, is survived by her husband of sixty-six (66) years, Ingram, one son, Ben (Joumana) Foster of Geneva, IL, one daughter, Jeannie (Robert) Jones of Prentiss, MS; three grandchildren, Garrett (Jenna) Jones of Collins, MS, Joseph Lamar and Shannon Marie Foster of Geneva, IL, three great grandchildren, who were her heart, Jackson Foster, Samuel Christopher and Madison Marie Jones, all of Collins. She is preceded in death by her oldest son, Lamar in 1974, her parents, two sisters, Doris Alley and Jean Dale Burns and two brothers, B. G. and Roody Walden.
