Gladys Leto

Funeral services were held Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Bethany Baptist Church in Prentiss, MS for Mrs. Gladys Leto, age 92, of Monticello, who passed away on February 11, 2014 at the Lawrence County Nursing Center in Monticello, MS. Interment followed at Bethany Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Rev. Mike Sutton officiated. Pall bearers were Lynn Hurst, Bobby Hurst, Heath Sistrunk, Roger Price, Tristan Barton, Drake Barton and Jimmy Kerley. Honorary pall bearers were Rusty Roberts, Johnny Williams Steven Roberts, Louis Grubbs and the deacons of Bethany Baptist Church.    A native of Jefferson Davis County, Gladys Roberts Leto was born on August 11, 1921. She was the daughter of Robert Fulton Roberts and Addie Evans Roberts. She worked many years as a secretary in New Orleans and later in a local hospital. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.     Mrs. Leto is survived by her grandson, Jimmy Barton (Heather) of Monticello, MS; her brothers, Rev. Kenneth Roberts and Rev. Paul Roberts both of Magee, MS, James Roberts of DeRidder, LA and Dewitt Roberts of Long Beach, MS; her sisters, Evelyn Sills of New Hebron, MS, Ann Roberts of Nashville, TN and Janice Hendricks of Destin, FL.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Pete Hurst and Joe Leto, her daughter, Joy Barton and two brothers, Buren Roberts and Brian Roberts.
