Funeral services were held Friday, November 29, 2013 at St. Peters Catholic Church in Bassfield, MS for Mrs. Jane Delancey Fortenberry, age 72, of Brandon, MS who passed away on November 25, 2013 at her residence. Interment followed at St. James Cemetery in Bassfield. Father Peter Varghese and Father Jeffrey Waldrep officiated. Pall bearers were Reggie Starnes, Jake Delancey, Kyle Roudtree, Tommy Boone, Ty Boone and Aaron Delancey. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Mrs. Jane Delancey Fortenberry was born on December 22, 1940 in Jefferson Davis County. She was the daughter of Thomas Howard and Leona Kirby Howard. She was the store manager of Pennington Shoe Store in Jackson for twenty years before retiring. She was also a member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Pearl, MS. Mrs. Fortenberry is survived by her husband, Calvin Fortenberry of Brandon; her sons, John Delancey (Pam) of Bentonia, Jerome Delancey and Michael Delancey (Robbie) all of Brandon; her step-sons, Ronnie Fortenberry of Silver Creek and Bobby Fortenberry of New Hebron; her daughters, Sandra Tucker (Alex), Sharon Starnes (Richard), Pat Dees (Terry), Frankie Boone (Ricky) all of Brandon; her step-daughter, Sherry Theroux of Diamond Head and her 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
