Mary E. Fortenberry

Funeral services were held Sunday, October 20, 2013 at Saulters Moore Funeral Chapel in Prentiss, MS for Mrs. Mary E. Fortenberry, age 94, of Prentiss, MS who passed away on October 17, 2013 at Jefferson Davis Community Hospital in Prentiss. Interment followed at Mt. Zion Baptist Cemetery in Mt. Olive, MS. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Rev. Carroll Rippy officiated. Pall bearers were Josh Buckley, Jeremy Buckley, Joseph Buckley, Tristan Magee, Adam Magee and James E. Aultman. Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Fortenberry was born in Lawrence County on December 2, 1918. She was the daughter of Richard Stephens and Fannie McMillan Stephens. She was a seamstress and worked at the Garment Factory in Monticello for many years. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Fortenberry is survived by her three grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and her son-in-law, Neil Magee of Prentiss, MS. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Oscar Fortenberry, her daughter, her son and a grandchild.
