Funeral services were held Sunday, October 5, 2013 at Prentiss Baptist Church in Prentiss, MS for Mr. Larry Magee, age 71, of Prentiss, MS who passed away on October 3, 2013 at his residence. Interment followed at Oak Grove Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Dr. Randy Rich officiated. Pall bearers were Garrett Magee, Bailey Bagee, Aaron Brown, Wendell Brown, Scott Parish and Greg Lee. Honorary pall bearers were the Jim Parkman Sunday School Class, Larry Rogers, Robert Alexander, Glenn McPhail, Donald Cole, Jimmy Walker and Paul Foster. A native of Jefferson Davis County, Larry Wood Magee was born on July 17, 1942. He was the son of Wood Magee and Jewel Mobley Magee. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Mary Kay Bass Magee. He was a 1960 graduate of Prentiss High School and then attended Pearl River Community College. While at PRCC, he played football and was a member of the 1961 National Championship Football Team. He worked with Georgia Pacific and retired as the Foreman of the Shipping Department after thirty two years. He was an active member of Prentiss Baptist Church. Mr. Magee is survived by his wife, Mary Kay Magee of Prentiss, MS; his son, Lance Wood Magee of Prentiss, MS; his daughters, Phyllis Denise Perrin (Dwight) of Hattiesburg, MS, Marcie Lari Magee and Mary Kristi Jones (Stan) all of Prentiss, MS; his grandchildren, Garrett Wood Magee, Bailey James Magee, Lindsey Faye Magee, Lauryn Olivia Magee, Mary Kate Jones, Emma Grace Jones; and his sister, Lynda Brown of Baton Rouge, LA.
