Funeral services were held Monday, September 9, 2013 at Saulters Moore Funeral Chapel in Prentiss, MS for Mrs. Janice Smith, age 62, of Prentiss, MS who passed away on September 7, 2013 at Jefferson Davis Community Hospital in Prentiss. Interment followed at Dublin Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Rev. Robert Sones officiated. Pall bearers were Brandon Grubbs, Trey Nichols, Austin Gilbert, Johnny Prine, Scott Dehart and Zack Peak. A native of Prentiss, Janice Kay Smith was born on April 4, 1951. She was the daughter of James Gilbert and Agnes Dyess Gilbert. She was a homemaker and a member of Dublin Baptist Church. Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband, Louie Smith of Prentiss: her daughter, Crystal Smith of Prentiss; her sons, James R. Smith of Columbia, MS and Damon Smith of Prentiss; her seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; her mother, Agnes Gilbert of Prentiss; her sister, Sandra Peak of Columbia, MS; her brothers, James Gilbert of Carson, MS, Dennis Gilbert of Prentiss and Joe Gilbert of Monticello, MS; and many nieces and nephews.
