Funeral services were held on Sunday, September 1, 2013 Santee Baptist Church for Rev. Julius Farrell Davis, age 79, of Prentiss, MS who passed away on August 30, 2013. Interment followed at Santee Baptist Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Rev. Tony Bagley, Rev. Mike Clark and Rev. Brad Roberts officiated. Pall bearers were Kirk Davis, Allen Richardson, Mike Jones, Brian Ryals, Greg Ladner and Ty Ladner. Rev. Julius Farrell Davis was born in Picayune, MS on August 9, 1934. He was the son of Julius L. Davis and Mary Dell Beach Davis. He served in the US Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He worked twenty six years with American General Insurance and retired as a District Manager. For the past seventeen years, he was the associate Pastor at Santee Baptist Church. He enjoyed farming and was a board member of the Northeast Jeff Davis Water Association. Rev. Davis is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Davis of Prentiss; his sons, Julius “Pic” Davis of Carriere, MS, Troy Davis of Dallas, TX and Carl Davis of D’Iberville, MS; his daughters, Denise Bales and Vickie Smith both of Picayune, MS, Donna McCain of Lee Summitt, MO and Janet Davis of Beaumont, TX; his step-daughters, Stacey Harmson of Leesville, LA and Melissa Richardson of Purvis, MS; fifteen grandchildren and twenty one great-grandchildren; his mother, Aurilla Davis of Picayune, MS; his brothers, Bill Davis of Lumberton, MS, Carey Davis of Hattiesburg, MS and Tony Davis of Cleveland, AL; his sisters, Judy Pippin of Picayune, MS and Ollie Shiyou of Kiln, MS.
