Mrs. Mary Lena Daughdrill Lee, 94, passed away with her family and pastor by her side on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Magee General Hospital. Funeral services were held on Monday, September 2 at Whitesand Baptist Church. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Rev. Charles Burnham and Mr. Mitchell Roberts officiated. Pall bearers were Chuck Mullins, Jarrod Lee, Brantley Hickman, Rusty Mullins, Matthew Hickman, Lee Parish and Mike Daughdrill. A native of Prentiss, Mrs. Mary Lena Daughdrill Lee was born on August 21, 1919 to Thomas Jefferson Daughdrill and Loy Ola Jolly Daughdrill. She was a homemaker and had worked as a supervisor with New Hebron Manufacturing. Her greatest joy in life was her family and she loved Whitesand Baptist Church where she was an active lifetime member. She is home in heaven now with her Lord and Savior, whom she spent her life on earth serving. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Vernon “Pete” Lee, one brother and three sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Mullins of Brookhaven; her son, Joe Lee (Nona Dale) of Magee; her seven grandchildren, Chuck Mullins (Karen), Rusty Mullins (Holly), Carol Teasley (Paul), Jarrod Lee (Stephanie), Matthew Hickman (Jessica), Elizabeth Parish (Lee) and Brantley Hickman; twelve great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren; and her sisters, Hazel McInnis and Doris Mauney. Memorials may be made to Whitesand Baptist Church--Building Fund, 159 Whitesand Church Road, Prentiss, MS 39474.
