Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at Saulters Moore Funeral Chapel in Prentiss, MS for Mr. James “Jimmy” Duke, age 55, of New Hebron, MS who passed away on August 17, 2013 at his residence. Interment followed at Old Hebron Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Rev. James Barrentine officiated. Pall bearers were Porky Stephens, Frank Riley, Jamie Forrest, Eugene Perine, Chico Brown and Wes Buffkin. Honorary pall bearers were James Stevens and Dorsey Logue. Mr. James “Jimmy” Lee Duke was born on November 7, 1957 in Atlanta, GA. He was the son of William C. Duke Sr. and Leah Bice Duke. He served in the US Army. He worked as a Service Technician for Compressed Air in Richland for sixteen years and was a member of Old Hebron Baptist Church. Mr. Duke is survived by his wife, Jennie Berry Duke of New Hebron; his son, James Duke Jr. of Mt. Olive, MS; his daughters, Jamie Bailey of KY, Tracey Duke of Lawton, OK, Jennifer Gandy of New Hebron, MS and Joanne Forrest of Hazlehurst, MS; seven grandchildren; his brother, Darrell Duke of Brandon, MS; and his sisters, Elaine Lakey and Sherrie Norton both of Anniston, AL.
