Helen Lucy Reed

Funeral services were held Saturday, August 10, 2013 at St. Peters Catholic Church in Bassfield, MS for Mrs. Helen Reed, age 68, of Carson, MS who passed away on August 8, 2013 at her residence. Interment followed at St. James Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Father Peter Varghese officiated. Pall bearers were Tyler Prine, Ryan Daley, Billy Boleware Jr., Richard Hanegan, Greg Dyess, Jonathon Hanegan, Eric Hanegan and Drew Inman. A native of Bassfield, Mrs. Helen Lucy Hanegan Reed was born on April 19, 1945. She was the daughter of Richard Hanegan Sr. and Lucy Daley Hanegan. She was a homemaker and a caregiver to everyone she knew. She was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church and a member of the Ladies Altar Society. Mrs. Reed is survived by her son, Jerry Reed Jr. of Cummings, GA; her daughters, Lisa Godinez of Suffolk, VA, Elaine Boleware and Renita Prine both of Carson, MS; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild; her brothers, Dennis Hanegan of Boston, MA, Lawrence Hanegan of Columbia, IL, Joseph Hanegan of Lynnfield, MA and Ralph Hanegan of Carson, MS; and her sisters, Bernice Daley of Carson, MS, Catherine Smith of Denham Springs, LA and Joan Norsworthy of Oak Grove, LA.
