Funeral services were held Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Saulters Moore Funeral Chapel in Prentiss, MS for Mrs. Bonnie Sue Polk, age 77, of Monticello, who passed away on June 3 at her residence. Interment followed at Prentiss Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Rev. Tim McCaffrey and Rev. Gary Hanberry officiated. Pall bearers were Robert Dennis Polk, Eric Parker, Justin Hyde, Jacob Wood, Terry Johnson and Gary Bass. Bonnie Sue Polk was born on August 29, 1935 in Lawrence County. She was the daughter of Eddie E. Davis and Annie Irene Smith Davis. She was a homemaker and lived in Magnolia a number of years before returning to Monticello, MS. She was a member of Union Baptist Church. Mrs. Polk is survived by his grandsons, Terry Johnson and Lee Johnson, both of Monticello, MS and Manuel Johnson of Brookhaven, MS, one granddaughter, Christy Usey of Hammond, LA, two sisters, Dimple Crosby of Cut Off, LA and Jewel Hedgepeth of Tuscaloosa, AL, one brother, Sammy Bozeman of Magnolia, MS. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ed Polk, one daughter, one son, three brothers, and one sister.
