J C Myers

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at New Hebron Baptist Church in New Hebron, MS for Mr. JC Myers, age 83, of Silver Creek, MS who passed away on April 20, 2013 at his residence. Interment followed at New Hebron Cemetery. Rev. David Wilkinson officiated. Pall bearers were John Hamil, Larry Hamil, Barry McCool, Scott Bryan, Stanley Stephens and Rick Knight. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. A native of Mississippi, Mr. JC Myers was born on June 29, 1929. He was the son of Owen H. Myers and Katie Mae Sills Myers. He served in the US Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean War. After leaving the air force, he lived in Washington for a year before returning to Mississippi. He was a Locomotive Engineer with the Southern Pacific Railroad and retired after forty years. He was a member of New Hebron Baptist Church. Mr. Myers is survived by his wife, Patsy Felter Myers of Silver Creek; his daughter, Linda Cox (Robert) of Hattiesburg; his two grandchildren, Rachel & Catherine Cox; his brother, Herman Myers of Kenner, LA and his sister, Carolyn Macera of Gretna, LA.
